We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Accountant to join our team in San Leandro, California. The ideal candidate will excel in managing both accounts payable and receivable processes while ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational standards. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to key financial operations in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Create and close jobs in Sage 100, ensuring contracts are accurate and completion is confirmed. Share job-related reports and forms with the internal team.
• Generate and send AIA progress billings, T& M invoices, and retention invoices. Work with project managers to ensure accurate SOVs.
• Submit lien waivers and required compliance documents for client billing.
• Monitor AR aging, follow up on outstanding balances, and escalate overdue accounts when necessary.
• Process and post daily payments (checks, ACH, wires), deposit checks, and reconcile invoices.
• Handle subcontractor pay apps, verify invoices, manage lien releases, and process retention-related items.
• Maintain accurate job/customer records, prepare monthly AR reports, and support month-end closing activities.
• Prepare and submit monthly union benefit reports; coordinate related GL payments.
• Maintain clear communication with clients’ accounting teams and collaborate closely with internal project managers.

Education:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years in accounts receivable, with a preference for construction industry experience.

Technical Proficiency:

• Skilled in Sage 100; well-versed in AIA billing processes and schedule of values (SOVs).
