The Exeter Township School District is seeking a competent and skilled mechanic. Are you passionate about keeping buses running smoothly and safely for kids?? We're looking for a reliable, experienced Bus Mechanic to join our team!


Position Goal: To coordinate activities to ensure that District equipment and vehicles, including buses, are properly inspected and maintained. To safely transport students, when required, and to comply with traffic and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation regulations.


The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following fundamental duties:

• Assures adequate maintenance and repair records are maintained for district vehicles and equipment.
• Performs monthly inspection on all vehicles and certifies annual State Police bus and vehicle inspections.
• Analyzes requirements and makes recommendations on schedule for preventative maintenance programs for district vehicles and equipment and maintains related records and reports on vehicle and equipment maintenance operations.
• Performs troubleshooting and related repairs on district vehicles.
• Diagnoses repairs, rebuilds and makes necessary adjustments on all vehicle components and systems.
• Utilizes Automated Fleet Management and Inventory Systems, sets up and supervises receipt and issuance of parts and supplies.
• Provides on-the-job training for mechanic trades personnel and bus drivers when requested.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


High school diploma or general education degree (GED).


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:


Must possess a certification for mechanic/diesel engines. Class B, PA State Inspection License is also required. Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License with School Bus endorsement. Must pass State Skill Test and State Written Test. Must have PennDOT acceptable driving record and must be able to pass a physical, including drug test.
