Position Summary

The Apparel Designer will report to the VP of Design and will be a key player in our design department. The Apparel Designer will play a crucial role in the development and production of our fashion lines.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and execute innovative design concepts
  • Research and analyze current fashion trends, consumer preferences, and market opportunities
  • Create original sketches and technical drawings for a variety of apparel products
  • Participate in fittings, providing input on fit and construction
  • Lead the selection of fabrics, trims, and embellishments for each design
  • Ensure designs meet technical specifications and production requirements
  • Maintain design library and archives, including sketches, samples, and documentation

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field
  • Strong portfolio showcasing design skills and creativity
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experience with textile selection and garment construction
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

Working conditions

  • Work is performed inside a temperature-controlled office building

Physical requirements

  • Sit, stand, bend, stoop, occasional to frequent lifting
  • Ability to listen and speak with employees and vendors
