Hours: 24 hours per week, hybrid (2 days onsite, 1 day remote) Contract Duration: contract-to-hire Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, time off, paid holidays off, etc. Job Summary This position supports the National Cancer Institute’s Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) and reports jointly to the NCORP Administrator/Administrative Director and the Program Coordinator. The role focuses on daily patient communication and coordination related to clinical research activities. Prior knowledge and experience in clinical trials and research coordination are required. Key Responsibilities Clinical and Administrative Duties Thoroughly review and understand the background, requirements, and patient eligibility criteria for each assigned clinical research study. Screen patients for study eligibility by evaluating medical records and confirming inclusion/exclusion criteria in coordination with referring providers and principal investigators. Consent patients for the study. Ensure protocol adherence by collaborating with physicians, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, and patients. Identify and address issues of non-compliance with research protocols, escalating to the principal investigator or provider when necessary. Exercise sound judgment and independence in resolving protocol-related issues with minimal supervision. Accurately complete and submit clinical research forms (CRFs) using platforms such as RAVE, RedCap, and other data management systems. Track and manage patient research activities through the electronic medical record and WebCollab project management system. Ensure all research activities align with protocol guidelines, regulatory standards, and contractual obligations. Attend weekly tumor board planning meetings and regular working group sessions to review patient updates, regulatory changes, and procedural concerns. Participate in annual cooperative group meetings (ECOG-ACRIN/Wake Forest/Alliance) for ongoing training and protocol updates. Coordinate and manage all aspects of patient appointments related to research, including scheduling and follow-ups for oncology consultations, nurse visits, imaging, and other required tests. Follow up with patients who miss appointments to reschedule and ensure continuity of care. Confirm that all ordered tests are properly scheduled and completed. Other Responsibilities Collaborate with team members to maintain a compliant and efficient research environment. Ensure confidentiality and protect the rights of all human subjects participating in research studies. Participate in administrative and staff development meetings. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Associate's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience working with clinical trial patients. Familiarity with the National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Access. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic research environment.
