You will work within the Global DEI team, partnering with Business Leaders and HRBPs of our Nike Brands (Converse & Jordan), our Frontline teams (Nike retail stores and Distribution Centres) and our teams in Asia Pacific and Latin America. You will lead a team of employees to establish the approach that enables Nike employees across different geographies, sites, and brands to experience DEI programming and activations in a manner that is most meaningful and impactful to them.
The role will oversee the strategy of how Nike's Enterprise DEI policies, programs, and initiatives are activated across the Nike brands, sites, and for our Frontline teams, to ensure that our ways of working are global aligned and also customized appropriately to be regionally and business relevant. The candidate needs to have a deep understanding of DEI practices and principals combined with a strong business acumen. Previous experience working at a manufacturing, assembly or distribution centre or working at a retail store is preferred, as is past experience working in Asia Pacific. Past experience in DEI/HRBP roles preferred. This role requires extensive partnership with Business leaders and executives and will require strong program and project management capabilities, including ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities to achieve strategic objectives.
A minimum of 9 years directly relevant experience.
A Master's Degree in Human Resources or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
Demonstrating neutral and composed leadership across diverse communities, leading with an open and inclusive mindset.
Experience in program development and implementation, especially as it pertains to agility with change management.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present in front of large audiences.
Capability to build and maintain cross-functional networks and navigate complex organizational structures to deliver business results.
Stay abreast of the best practices in the DEI space and integrate them meaningfully into Nike's programming.
This is a blended role wearing multiple hats. A key part of the role will be to oversee the strategy of how our enterprise DEI programs and initiatives, and the programming from our Employee Resource Groups are customized for different employee populations across Nike.
Operationalize and integrate the enterprise DEI strategy aligned to Nike Inc.'s business goals with the HR priorities of the respective brands/geos/sites to provide direct impact.
Serve as a consultant to HRBPs by proactively advising on the most impactful DEI programming and insights for the respective teams they support.
Be a strategic thought partner to leaders and teammates to navigate and address DEI-related interpersonal and systemic opportunities with concrete data driven business tactics to drive results.
Consult with the ER team on complex DEI issues/advising ER teammates on resolution of escalated issues in the brands/geos/sites they support.
Sharing respective talent intelligence and insights for the brands/geo/sites with our HR COEs for more impactful talent programming.
Apply innovative programming to engage our Retail employees (working at Nike stores) in DEI activations.
Anticipate potential roadblocks, identify opportunities for improvement and provide practical approaches to problem solving while monitoring compliance and coordinating with legal counsel.
Oversee a team of employees who will be the single point of contact for all DEI matters for the business teams/geographies/Distribution Centers/Retail teams they support, creating a high-performance culture, fostering global collaboration and accountability to deliver a seamless teammate experience.
Embed a data driven approach to defining success metrics for the business teams and brands they support, and review insights for meaningful future programming.
Foster a culture of DEI stewardship, being the face of DEI for our brands, sites, and Geos, leading complex conversations with confidence and grace. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
Influence diverse stakeholders, rallying them towards Nike's DEI vision and purpose.
