Director of Modular Data Center Solutions – Power Infrastructure

Location: Dallas, TX

Compensation: To $300K+ (salary & bonus)

Power Technology Associates, Inc. is conducting a search for a dynamic, results-oriented Director to lead the modular data center strategy, with a specialized focus on power distribution and backup systems. This strategic leadership role will drive the development, implementation, and deployment of cutting-edge modular solutions, ensuring seamless integration of power infrastructure systems like PDUs and UPS technology. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of mission-critical power systems, excellent leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of delivering scalable data center solutions to enterprise and hyperscale environments. Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

• Formulate and execute a comprehensive modular data center strategy, with a focus on integrating advanced power solutions.
• Lead market assessments to uncover opportunities for modular deployments across various data center verticals, including colocation, hyperscale, and enterprise markets.
• Act as a key technical and business advocate for power infrastructure solutions in modular data center offerings.

Product & Solution Ownership

• Oversee the design and development of integrated modular power systems, including UPS, PDUs, battery storage, and switchgear solutions.
• Ensure seamless integration with complementary infrastructure technologies, such as cooling and monitoring systems.

Customer & Partner Engagement

• Collaborate with sales and business development teams to deliver tailored modular power solutions to clients.
• Cultivate strong relationships with strategic partners, engineering firms, and customers across the region.

Project Execution

• Lead the planning, manufacturing, and deployment of modular power systems, ensuring projects are delivered on-time and within budget.
• Oversee system integration, factory testing, and field deployment for large-scale projects, particularly those supporting edge environments.

Team & Cross-Functional Leadership

• Manage a team of project managers, solution architects, and engineers responsible for project execution and delivery.
• Work closely with global teams in R&D, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality to ensure continuous improvements in product and service delivery.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in the data center or power infrastructure industry, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
• Deep understanding of PDU, UPS, and modular power systems for mission-critical environments.
• Proven success in designing and deploying modular or integrated power solutions.
• Familiarity with key industry standards, including UL, IEEE, NFPA 70E, NEC, TIA-942, and Uptime Tier Standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer-facing abilities.
• Ability to travel within North America (up to 30%).

Preferred Experience :

• Background in working with colocation or hyperscale data center operators.
• Technical expertise in advanced power systems, such as lithium-ion battery systems, flywheel UPS, or modular switchgear.
• Previous experience with edge data center or containerized infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with Data Center Infrastructure Management.
