Job Description

The Director of Sales & Marketing - Full Service oversees the planning and management of sales and marketing for a Full Service hotel. The role aims to achieve optimal occupancy, grow existing accounts, and generate new business to maximize revenue and meet profit objectives. Responsibilities include managing daily sales operations, developing sales forecasts, marketing strategies, advertising, and budgeting for one hotel. The position requires working independently, exercising discretion, and managing a team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive hotel sales experience preferred; or a 4-year college degree with 2 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree with 4 years of related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license in the applicable state.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for negotiations and client interactions.
  • Extensive professional selling skills including opening, probing, supporting, and closing.
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills for sales deployment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent organization and presentation skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse backgrounds and solve complex problems.
  • Advanced knowledge of sales, marketing, and hospitality principles.
  • Ability to work under stress and understand financial data.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate group, transient, and catering sales to maximize revenue.
  • Develop and manage the division's budget, marketing, and sales plans to meet revenue and profit goals.
  • Conduct outside sales calls, tours, and entertain clients.
  • Negotiate contract terms and develop market awareness to predict revenue opportunities.
  • Monitor top accounts and evaluate market trends.
  • Ensure compliance with company regulations, standards, and metrics.
  • Achieve individual, team, and budget goals.
  • Train hotel staff on sales opportunities to increase occupancy and revenue.
  • Manage Human Resources within the division, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance reviews.
  • Supervise Catering & Event Management team to meet budgets.
  • Develop operational knowledge of hotel departments.
  • Maintain visibility in the local community and industry organizations.
  • Participate in meetings and conduct training sessions as needed.
  • Collaborate with marketing partners and internal departments.
  • Travel weekly as required and act on behalf of the GM in their absence.
  • Handle access to sensitive areas and information responsibly.
