Job Description

I'm partnering with a rapidly growing, multi-billion-dollar food manufacturer in Downtown Chicago. There are 20 manufacturing sites across NA and 15 innovation labs that are constantly developing new products within the food commodities space. This client's customer base is in well-known stores such as Costco, Walmart, Aldi, etc. and they partner with large CPG companies such as Pepsi, Mars, Kraft, etc. They are now seeking to bring on a Finance Manager/Plant Controller to their growing team.

Reporting directly into the VP of Finance, the Finance Manager/Plant Controller will have a blended role of Accounting & Finance, while overseeing an Accountant. You will be responsible for the day-to-day finance function (forecasting/budgeting/cost analysis/etc.) as well as overseeing monthly financial closing duties.

Description

Finance Manager/Plant Controller Responsibilities:

  • Develop budgets, evaluate financial performance against targets, and suggest corrective measures as needed.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analyses to assess current status and project future financial trends.
  • Partner with teams to deliver consistent business support that drives informed strategic decisions.
  • Direct and coordinate the monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting and thorough variance analysis.
  • Handle all aspects of reporting related to inventory, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead or contribute to complex audit initiatives and both internal and external reporting efforts.
  • Monitor adherence to accounting standards and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field
  • 6+years of experience required
  • Manufacturing or CPG industry experience required
  • CPA or CMA nice to have
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, BI, Excel4Apps, and other integrated reporting solutions
  • Excellent teamwork and relationship building
  • Ability to work with a diverse team across various geographies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail, strong sense of urgency, and ownership
