Is a Chicago-based nonprofit that removes barriers to employment by eliminating biases that disqualify candidates unnecessarily. Working with local and global companies, Skills brings opportunities to neighborhoods and municipalities throughout the Chicagoland area. To be eligible for Skills for Chicago services, candidates must reside in Illinois, Indiana or Wisconsin, be authorized to work in the United States, and be either unemployed or underemployed.

Job Highlights

  • Ensure the safety, development, and emotional well-being of the children in your care
  • Support daily routines, including meals, naps, playtime, and transportation as needed
  • Handle diaper changes, assist with bathroom breaks, and maintain cleanliness
  • Be reliable and consistentyour presence will become a trusted part of the familys rhythm

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in structured childcare setting (babysitting, daycare, nannying, etc.); successful applicants will need to provide 3 professional reference letters that can speak to this experience
  • Access to a personal vehicle or reliable transportation is required
  • Must be 18+ years old
  • Passionate about forming long-term relationships and providing stable care
  • Comfortable caring for kids from newborns to 13-year-olds
  • Dependable, energetic, and enjoy working in new environments
