We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Podiatrist to join our healthcare team. The ideal Podiatrist will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of foot and ankle conditions, providing exceptional patient care, and contributing to the overall health and well-being of our patients. This role involves traveling from patient’s house to house within Brooklyn, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work directly within patients' homes. It requires a strong commitment to patient service and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Duties

  • Conduct thorough examinations of patients' feet and ankles to diagnose conditions such as fractures, infections, or deformities.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and medical history.
  • Perform surgical procedures when necessary, including corrective surgeries for foot deformities.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care, including referrals to specialists when required.
  • Educate patients on foot care practices, preventive measures, and the management of chronic conditions.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Stay updated on advancements in podiatric medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities.
  • Travel between patients' homes in Brooklyn, providing care in a community-based setting as a Podiatrist .

Skills

The successful Podiatrist candidate should possess the following skills:

  • Proficiency in radiology for interpreting X-rays and other imaging studies.
  • Knowledge of airway management techniques.
  • Understanding of internal medicine principles relevant to podiatric care.
  • Experience in dementia care as it relates to patient communication and understanding.
  • Familiarity with gastroenterology issues that may affect foot health.
  • Competence in pediatric emergency medicine for treating younger patients.
  • Ability to address behavioral health concerns impacting foot care compliance.
  • Basic knowledge of cardiology as it pertains to systemic conditions affecting the lower extremities.
  • Strong patient service skills to ensure a positive experience for all patients.
  • Experience working in or with a Level I Trauma Center is preferred.
