CNN is seeking an experienced investigative video journalist to join our team, responsible for pitching, developing, and executing original, video-driven investigations across broadcast, digital, and social platforms. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of producing impactful visual stories, utilizing advanced OSINT techniques, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to bring complex narratives to life. This role requires strong reporting, scripting, and video production skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and adapt quickly to breaking news developments. Responsibilities include pitching, developing, and executing original investigative stories with strong video components for CNN broadcast, digital, and social platforms; reporting, scripting, and producing original visual investigations independently and with others; producing and scripting narrative-driven investigative pieces including field production, interviews, and found footage; conducting deep-dive OSINT research using social media, satellite imagery, public records, and digital forensic tools; collaborating with animators, editors, and data journalists to visualize complex stories; managing multiple investigative projects simultaneously; and proactively monitoring ongoing news developments for potential investigative angles and quick-turn exclusives. Qualifications include 5+ years of experience in investigative video journalism, preferably in a broadcast or digital newsroom; demonstrated ability to produce impactful, video-first investigations; strong scripting and storytelling skills; basic video editing skills; proficiency in OSINT methods and tools; solid news judgment and journalistic ethics; ability to work collaboratively under tight deadlines; strong organizational and communication skills; and willingness to travel as needed.
