Job Description

A fast-growing Gen Z activewear brand is looking for a full-time Social Media Manager to lead the women’s division’s social strategy and voice. This brand is known for its massive social following and strong athlete influencer presence. This role is focused on organic content and community management—not influencer marketing—and works closely with the Co-Founder and creative team.

Ideal candidates are fluent in Gen Z culture, content-obsessed, and deeply understand what performs across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Must be based in LA and available to work onsite 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

1. Content Planning & Strategy

• Own and manage the content calendar with intention and foresight
• Align social plans with product drops, campaigns, promos, and key seasonal moments
• Collaborate with the creative team to brief and secure needed assets

2. Platform Management

• Oversee daily content across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Snapchat, and more
• Understand platform nuances—what performs, how it looks, and how it's timed
• Schedule and post content consistently and strategically

3. Community Engagement

• Respond to DMs and comments, including customer support and fan engagement
• Cultivate community love, encourage user-generated content, and elevate loyal followers
• Monitor and engage across broadcast channels, comments, and conversations

4. Trendspotting

• Stay current on trending sounds, memes, shows, creators, and formats
• Jump on trends in real time—without being cliché or off-brand
• Stay fluent in Gen Z internet culture, language, and humor

5. Analytics & Reporting

• Track engagement metrics, growth, impressions, and content performance
• Provide monthly reporting decks with insights and learnings
• Use data to inform future content and continuously refine strategy

6. Campaign & Collab Coordination

• Support product drops, giveaways, and collaborations
• Help organize PR packages, campaign timelines, and creator support
• Occasionally attend photoshoots to capture behind-the-scenes content

7. Crisis Management

• Quickly identify and respond to any social media issues or missteps
• Flag sensitive content before it goes live
• Act as the brand's voice during sensitive conversations or viral moments

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years managing social media for a Gen Z–oriented fashion, beauty, lifestyle, or activewear brand
• Deep platform fluency, especially in TikTok and Instagram
• Strong writing skills and visual eye for brand aesthetics
• Experience cultivating and managing a digital community
• Able to stay organized, proactive, and responsive in a fast-paced, content-heavy environment
• Based in the Los Angeles area and able to work onsite 5 days a week
