Operations Support Specialist 4

Compa Industries is searching for qualified candidates for an Operations Support Specialist 4 position at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM .

Salary: $63/hr - $68/hr

Location: Los Alamos, NM

Citizenship: US citizenship Required

Work Schedule: 4/10s, adjustable to subcontractor schedules

Clearance: Q Clearance (not required at hire)

Impact

This position plays a crucial role in overseeing mission-critical deliverables for construction activities and operations at a high-security, Hazard Category 2 radiological facility. The OSS 4 ensures safe, compliant, and timely project execution while aligning with Laboratory policies, DOE regulations, and NQA-1 quality assurance standards. This includes end-to-end oversight from planning to delivery, interfacing with stakeholders, managing documentation, improving processes, and ensuring seamless coordination across construction, field controls, and Contracts Administration.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee discrete technical and operational projects related to construction.
  • Coordinate various groups involved in construction activities to ensure adequate staffing and technical alignment.
  • Provide consistent group support services across multiple construction projects.
  • Ensure consistent application of engineering and construction standards.
  • Manage and improve processes, documentation, and budgeting.
  • Supervise other workers and subcontractors effectively.
  • Act as a liaison with stakeholders, ensuring excellent communication and delivery success.
  • Maintain safety and compliance in a DOE radiological facility environment.
  • Adjust schedules in coordination with subcontractors and project needs.
  • Participate in on-call and overtime work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 15+ years of construction experience with at least 5 years supporting the DOE mission.
  • Experience managing construction in DOE or NRC nuclear/radiological facilities.
  • Strong understanding of work control, quality control, and assurance requirements under NQA-1.
  • Must possess or be eligible for Q Clearance.
  • Availability to start by 7/28/2025.

Desired Skills

  • DOE construction management experience.
  • Certified Electrical Field Work Supervisor and Responsible (Line) Manager.
  • A-level access and familiarity with secure/confidential environments.
  • Professional and safety certifications relevant to DOE and nuclear complex.
  • Proven ability to manage complex construction issues in secure facilities.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Recognized bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Preferred: qualifications in Electrical Field Work Supervision and construction safety certifications.
