Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care to oncology patients in accordance with established standards, practices, and healthcare techniques. Demonstrate sound clinical judgment, assist providers in patient care and education, and actively participate as a member of the healthcare team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in coordinated care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to patients, ensuring adherence to established protocols and safety standards.
• Assist in examination, diagnostic, and treatment procedures.
• Administer medications, including chemotherapy/biotherapy, in compliance with certification requirements.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment, side effects, and care plans.
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Respond effectively in emergency situations with calm and appropriate interventions.
• Utilize various types of equipment for examinations and treatments.
• Maintain accurate documentation in line with medical and office procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of practical nursing principles, examination/treatment procedures, and medication effects.
• Familiarity with patient education techniques and safety precautions.
• Understanding of office procedures, medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding guidelines.
• Ability to communicate clearly and follow physician instructions.
• Strong critical thinking skills to analyze problems, prioritize, and make effective decisions.
• Ability to perform calmly and effectively under pressure.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

• Active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider), renewed every two years.
• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy or Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration course (2-year certification) – must be current or completed within 2 weeks of hire.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in oncology.
